Eligibility
Age Limit (as on 01 July 2026):
- Minimum Age: 21 Years
- Maximum Age for Assistant Teacher (Primary – Urban): 40 Years
- Maximum Age for Assistant Teacher (Attached Primary): 62 Years
Age relaxation will be provided as per UPESSC regulations.
Educational Qualification:
1. Assistant Teacher (Primary – Urban):
- Candidates must hold a Graduation degree from a legally established university in India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.
- Possess a recognized teacher-training qualification, which includes BTC, BTC (Urdu), Special BTC, a 2-year Diploma in Special Education approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), a 4-year B.El.Ed., or a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) recognized under NCTE Regulations, 2002. (Note: The BTC course is currently known as D.El.Ed.).
- Must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by either the State Government or the Government of India.
2. Assistant Teacher (Attached Primary):
- Applicants must have a Graduation degree from an Indian university or a recognized/deemed university/institution.
- Must hold a BTC or D.El.Ed. degree from an NCTE-recognized course.
- Successfully passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Government or Government of India for Classes 01 to 05.
